Sage has long, grey-green and slightly textural leaves, and edible flowers. Its strong aroma is due to the rich oil content in its leaves. Best used sparingly as its flavor can overpower a dish. Sage contains natural anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-spasmodic properties. Similar to rosemary, sage can be made into a herbal tea. A fantastic complement to savory dishes, it is one of the more popular herbs around Thanksgiving.
Store dry in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
