Chives are a commonly used herb in many parts of the world. Their blade-like leaves are hollow, grow straight up and come to a point. They have a mild onion flavor, that doesn’t tend to leave a long aftertaste. In culinary use, the scapes and the unopened, immature flower buds are diced and used as an ingredient for fish, potatoes, soups, and other dishes. Chives are used as both a garnish and as an aromatic herb.
Store dry in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
