Calendula Flowers are bright orange or yellow blossoms that can be solid or variegated in color. These flowers have a mild honeyed aroma. Their flavor is very mild and sweetly vegetal to slightly bitter, but becomes more intense when dried. Both the petals and leaves are edible. Calendula Flowers are often added to tea, sprinkled on salad to add color and texture, used to color baked goods, or medicinally used to reduce inflammation and aid healing when applied to the skin.
They will keep two-five days when stored covered in plastic in the refrigerator.
