An old Japanese variety, the Shishito is a wrinkled, glossy, thin-skinned savory pepper that is about three inches long. It is 100% edible, including the seeds. It has a piquant and peppery flavor with sweet nuances. Its heat can vary from very mild to spicy hot, with approximately one in ten peppers randomly offering a hot kick unlike the others. Perfect for sautéing or frying, blister Shishitos in a hot pan with garlic and a dash of sea salt and enjoy!
